A new version of the KOMPAS software is now available. KOMPAS-3D V9 features many new features which make the learning of the system much easier using the innovative 'ABC of Kompas' tutorials.
The new version also includes many enhancements which make the system more efficient and easier for those making the move from 2D to 3D drafting.

There was very strong interest in the KOMPAS products with over 800 demonstration CD's and documentation requested by visitors.

ASCON released Template Manager - New application for KOMPAS-3D
KOMPAS-3D users now can create own parametric 2D/3D libraries, connected to tables.
27 March 2007 – ASCON announce about the availability of new add-on for its 3D Parametric Modelling Solution – KOMPAS-3D. This new application, called Template Manager, is intended for creating, maintaining and the use of customised template libraries when working in KOMPAS-3D.
The application will allow KOMPAS users to create a wide range of KOMPAS-3D thematic libraries and fill them with their own parts that they work with (templates).
Users can set variables from a connected MS Excel table when pasting a template to a KOMPAS-3D document. A template can be pasted to a KOMPAS-3D document as a set of objects (lines, arcs, curves etc.); as a library macro element or as a component which can be edited with Template Manager tools; as a part of an assembly, which can be edited with KOMPAS-3D tools; and others.
The Template library can be completed by users' parts, fragments and parametric tables, linked to each other. One MS Excel document may correspond to several parts or fragment files from Template Library.
Template Manager requires Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice.org Calc installed.

Press release: Ascon announce the release of a new 3D recognition library for their Kompas-3D V8 software. This new library allows rapid conversion of an imported model into a parametric model with fully editable history. This optional library is now available, existing Kompas-3D users should contact their local dealer for purchase information.
