The KOMPAS-GRAPHIC (2D) drawing editor is packed with powerful tools for the automation of design and engineering works in a variety of industries. It is successfully used for machine design, for civil engineering design, and for drawing up various plans and diagrams.

KOMPAS- GRAPHIC can be used as a drawing and outline design module being fully integrated within KOMPAS-3D or as a separate system covering all aspects of 2D-design and the creation and release of documentation.
From the outset, KOMPAS-GRAPHIC has been designed to offer complete support of UDDS (Unified Design Documentation System GOST 21.114-95). In doing so, it is capable of providing very flexible settings for the enterprise standards compliance.
The graphical document import/export tools (KOMPAS-GRAPHIC supports DXF, DWG, IGES formats) allows a wide range of data exchange with allied companies and customers using any drawing and graphical systems.
The whole of the KOMPAS-GRAPHIC functionality is aimed at the rapid creation of high-quality drawings, diagrams, calculation and explanatory notes, specifications, instructions and other documents.
The following features are include:
* a well thought-out and convenient interface making the designer’s work both fast and enjoyable;
* a multi-document working mode for operations with several drawings;
* various methods and modes for construction of graphical primitives (including orthogonal drawing, grid snap, etc.);
* management of the order of graphical object drawing;
* powerful tools for the creation of parametric models for often used parts or assemblies;
* creation of standard part libraries without any programming;
* any styles of lines, shading, text;
* numerous methods for dimensioning and process notation;
* automatic selection of tolerances and deviations;
* fast access to standard texts and designations;
* built-in text editor with spell checking;
* built-in table editor.
KOMPAS-GRAPHIC can automatically generate associative drawings of three-dimensional models (including cuts, sections, local cuts, local view, section view, views with a break). All of them are associated with the 3D model, i.e. any changes in the model will result in changes in the drawing image. The standard views can be automatically generated with projection links. The main drawing data (designation, description, weight) are synchronised with the three-dimensional model data.
The latest version of KOMPAS-GRAPHIC V9 includes a lot of improvements and new features. Objects of drawing execution are improved for better support of different applied standards (UDDS, SPDS and ISO). The commands for the creation of views, cuts and sections are much improved. Automatic spell checking and new features for creating drawing links and are added. These and lots of other features help to make the work of a designer much easier and effective than previous versions. With the Release of KOMPAS-GRAPHIC V9, the developers as usual have paid considerable attention to improving system performance. In particular, a considerable improvement in the generation of associative views in drawings was achieved.
