Analysis of Kinematic and Dynamic — Universal Mechanism Express

Application is designed for proximate analysis of dynamic, kinematic and static systems, developed with KOMPAS-3D. The library is made for design engineers who solving problems of execution behavior of machines and mechanisms. The library is a standard application for KOMPAS-3D. Mechanisms are described as systems of solids, joints and load-bearing elements.
3D-model real-time animation is supported during calculation process. Almost all of necessary amounts are available for analysis including coordinates, velocity, acceleration, joint’s reaction forces, spring forces etc.

The library supports following features:

  • Working with linear force-summing elements or variable according to harmonic rule, which included in fixed model database.
  • Setting of uniform, uniformly accelerated/retarded motion or its variation according to harmonic rule for kinematic purposes.
  • Ability to solve solid contact, the task is being solved under condition of non-intersection of solids during kinematic and dynamic motion.

Universal mechanism library allows:

  • Elements and kinematic relation parameterization;
  • Creating video (AVI) files of results of motion modelling.
  • construction of graph of any dynamic or kinematic characteristic
  • Calculation of an equilibrium position and own frequencies of the model depending on parameters.

Full KOMPAS-3D models recognition is provided. Visualization of work and library’s results displays in separate window and user can get visual data of object’s motion, about its dynamic and kinematic characteristics during the process of modelling.

Dynamic library, Universal mechanism, allows modelling of objects, consisted of unlimited number of solid, on basis of 3D-model assemblies, designed with KOMPAS-3D.

Wide range of joints allows creating mechanisms of any complexity. Following types of joints (kinematic pairs) are available:

  • progressive;
  • rotary;
  • universal-joint;
  • spherical;
  • 6 degrees of freedom.

The library includes about twenty samples of dynamic models, bringed to show library’s abilities in the area of modelling of car suspension’s kinematics and dynamics, engines, robots, mechanisms and machines. Help includes detailed leading into modelling and step-by-step instructions for all stages of model’s creating and analysis.
